I have been learning Spanish for 3 years, and I am okay at it. I’ve been learning Mandarin Chinese for 1 year, and am actually doing pretty good at that, but I am nowhere near fluent for either. If I tried to talk to a person who speaks Spanish/Mandarin, would they be happy I’m trying to learn, or think I’m just another stupid English-speaking person?
I always get embarrassed when I can’t think of the right word…
