Taiwan has its own military, its own legal system, its own currency, its own political parties, its own elections, it issues its own visas and passports, and in addition to speaking Mandarin, many Taiwanese also speak a dialect not spoken in mainland China.
So what is up with people not thinking that it is its own independent country?
