I am a college freshman. Recently, I joined a club that pairs a native speaker of A (who wants to learn/practice B) with a B speaker (who wants to learn/practice A). I am paired with a woman who speaks Mandarin Chinese and wants to learn English.
Obviously, we aren’t language-teaching professionals, so my partner had the idea that maybe I could buy a workbook/textbook (preferably with an audio companion) that she could help me with. Does anyone have any book recommendations? I was thinking of seeing what the intro Chinese course uses at my school, but I’m not sure. There might be cheaper/better books elsewhere.
I speak NO chinese, so I’ll be starting from a basic level. And I want to speak AND read and write the characters.
