A few weeks ago I began teaching myself Mandarin Chinese. I was learning Pinyin, but I sort of think that is pointless since nobody in China (and I do plan to visit) is going to write in Pinyin. So I decided to learn both the language and the writing together.
But what’s the best way? Should I focus on a few words at a time with their words/characters? Or something else? Any ideas?
