Hi, I’ve just started learning Mandarin, and I notice the characters 这些 can sometimes be, in pinyin, ‘zhe4xie1’ or ‘zhei4xie1’, with the pronunciation apparently being interchangeable. (ie, either zhe4 (‘jeh’ sound) or zhei4 (‘jay’ sound). Does it matter which pronunciation I use?
Which is generally more difficult for people do you think? Of course, I think Russian is easy to speak and read because it’s my native language. So, I need a second opinion please. Thank you.
