Need to choose between learning mandarin chinese and ap world history because of a conflict with my other classes

And sometimes it’s leh and lah. Is it something with the pronunciation of the language or something like that? Just to add on to this, is it kind of like when native Japanese speakers speak English they add extra "ahs" and "oos" to English words?
