Is there a income level difference between Chinese people who speak Cantonese and Mandarin?

Are Cantonese speakers generally those who live on the countryside (farmers) while Mandarin is more in the rural areas?
Is Mandarin more widespread in URBAN* areas is what I meant to say, not rural.
