I’m going to Tokyo with my friend for a few days, just to hang around, but we don’t speak any Japanese. I’m a bit embarrassed about that, not wanting to just be seen as a jackass backpacking foreigner (we’ll have backpacks… but we’re not jackasses :D)
So anyway, I was wondering how much of the population there in the greater Tokyo area can speak English well enough, and/or Mandarin Chinese because we can speak that aswell. Thank you.
