i am 14 year old boy and so i regret not learning mandarin younger because i am chinese and both my parents can speak and read cantonese and mandarin. i am pathetic, but anyways i have started to learn mandarin a little and i know some basic stuff like hello, how are you, thank you, goodbye, i love you, and some more basic stuff. im in china right now and i was wondering how long would it take me to speak and read and write fluently in mandarin???? i just hope it is not like after collage or something but like during high school which i am going to be a freshman in the fall. oh and why do younger kids learn new language faster than older ones? can i still learn mandarin pretty fast
