I think that it is easy for anyone to learn akin languages, like Spanish and French, or languages with more or less the same scripture, link French, German and French, or Mandarin and Japanese. It is much more difficult to try to learn some totally different languages like French and Mandarin or Hindi and Malagasy. What do you think ? My grandfather had learnt 8 different languages, among them French, Malagasy and Russian.
